Boxycharm June 2014

This was my first Boxycharm box, and let me tell you! I'm OBSESSED! This box has such a high value, and I will use every product that I received! As if that wasn't enough, all five products were FULL SIZE! That's right! This box is $21 a month, and you can sign up here.

Keep reading to see what was in the June Boxycharm box:

Tarina Taratino Eye Dream HyperLight, full size cost $22

I'm not sure why the picture says a $15 value. This product costs $22. This is a great product for concealing and highlighting under your eyes.

Tarina Taratino Eye Dream HyperLiner, full size cost $15

This is an eyeliner in the color "Cute Robot." It is a dark blue color, and is really pretty. It is definitely waterproof. It didn't budge off of my skin. It is so smooth as well!

tarte cheek stain, $30 value

This is a really pretty, shimmery pink (which is fitting since it's called "Blushing Bride") cream blush. I can't wait to try this one on my cheeks! It smells amazing too!
This box also came with a 20% off of your purchase on tarte.com

Revlon Bold Lacquer Mascara, $7.99 value

I love mascaras, and this is a new product, so I am excited to get to try it! I have not opened this yet, because I already have several opened mascaras that I need to use first. However, I am really excited to try this. It's in the color blackest black.
This box also came with $1 off coupon for this mascara if you decide you like it, and want to buy another one. (It's actually for any Revlon mascara).

Strange Beautiful Nail Laquer, $18 for two nail polishes

These nail polishes are in the colors "Something Blue" and "You Gold Girl." They are both really pretty shimmer colors.

The Verdict:

This box had a value of $92.99, and I got it for $21! I can't get over how great this box is. I will definitely continue to subscribe to this box. If you want to get in on this awesome deal, be sure to go to Boxycharm and sign up today!

June 2014 Birchbox

This is my fourth month subscribing to Birchbox. I am still not sure how I feel about it. It is a subscription box that is $10 a month. To sign up, go here. This month I received five items. Keep reading to find out what I got!

Coastal Scents Revealed 2 Eye Shadow Palette Set, Full Size $34

If you buy the full size from Birchbox it comes with brushes, however you can get just the palette for $20 on the Coastal Scents website. I know this because I just ordered the Revealed and Revealed 2 palettes a couple weeks ago. If I did not already have the full size, I would have been really excited about this product. I may swap this, or I may keep it to use for travel. Either way, it was a product I am definitely interested in since I bought it myself before Birchbox sent it to me.

Supergoop! Everday SPF 30 with Cellular Response Technology, Full Size $19

Why do subscription boxes keep sending me sunscreen?! I understand that sunscreen is important. But to me, sunscreen is just sunscreen. I don't care what kind of brand it is as long as it works. This was not a product I was super thrilled about. I will probably pass this along, or maybe keep it in my purse.

Number 4 Super Comb Prep & Protect, Full Size $32

This is a leave-in conditioner that guards color and acts as an SPF for your hair. It is also supposed to detangle your hair. I don't have anything against this product, and I will probably use it all up. However, it does have a smell that I am not particularly fond of. Along with this, I am pretty attached to my Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle spray which does the same thing, is cheaper, and smells really good. Like I said though, I will definitely use this product.

Joie Folle de Joie Eau de Parfum, Full Size $98

I already have a sample of this perfume, and I love it. I was kind of bummed that I received a repeat product from Birchbox. However, I am okay with it because I really do love this perfume. The only reason I am not buying a full one for myself is the price tag. I mean look at that thing! Almost $100 for one bottle of perfume. So, I am excited to have another sample I can use.

Jasmine Seven Fresh Feet Wipes, 3 packs of 10 wipes is $9.95

These wipes will be great to through in my purse! I definitely suffer from stinky feet from time to time. While I am not a huge fan of the minty scent in these, I think it will definitely give my feet a fresh feeling. The sample size was great! I got a whole pack of ten wipes. I am definitely a fan of that!

The Verdict

Birchbox did a much better job this month than they have in the past. While I am still not blown away by anything, I am not upset by my box at all. What did you think of your Birchbox this month?

Trusting

Found this saved on my computer. I wrote it a few months ago.

Lately I have been struggling with patience and trusting. What is God's plan for my life? When will He reveal more of it to me? Sometimes I feel totally lost in the big picture of life. Just floating around doing my own thing.

I am a planner. I like to know what is going to happen next. Where I am going, with who, when, and why. So this has been a really hard thing for me to accept. That sometimes the plans I have for myself may not be what God has planned for me. I need to wait and see what He desires for me and my life. His plan is greater than mine

Trust in Him at all times, o people, pour out your hearts to Him, for God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8

Is God trustworthy?…. Then TRUST HIM!

May 2014 Birchbox

This is my third month subscribing to Birchbox. I am still not sure how I feel about it. It is a subscription box that is $10 a month. To sign up, go here. This month I received six items. Keep reading to find out what I got!

Number 4™ Volumizing Shampoo, Full Size $34

I received a decent sized shampoo sample. I will use this and try it out. It is a good size to take on a trip.  I am a little bummed about this product just because I like the shampoos I use now. I don't need to try new ones.

Number 4™ Volumizing Conditioner, Full Size $36

My sample of conditioner was just a little foil packet that they threw in as an "extra." If I am going to really try the shampoo and conditioner, I would have liked to receive a bigger sample of the conditioner so that I have enough to see if I like it.

Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream, Full Size $20

This is one product that I am excited to try. While it will probably only last me two shaves, it is something that I would be willing to buy the full size of if I really like it. I will definitely be trying this soon.

CoTZ Face Natural Skin Tone SPF 40, Full Size $20

I was not at all excited to see this in my box. I don't really like trying new sunscreens. Sunscreen is sunscreen. I'll definitely use this, but I will not be buying a 1.5 ounce bottle for twenty dollars. Also, the sample size for this is TINY. I'll be surprised if I can get a full one use out of it.

LAQA & Co. Sheer Lip Lube Pencil, Full Size $18

This is a product that I was really excited about! I love lip products, and this one will definitely be put to use. I received the purple color in my box. Purple would not have been my first choice, but I am excited to get to try it.

SmartyPants All-in-One Gummy Vitamins for Adults, Full Size $29.99

I received two gummies in my sample. They were very good, and I was planning on buying more. Until I looked at the price. It's $29.99 for 180 vitamins. The daily serving is 6 vitamins a day. SIX! That adds up to about a dollar a day for vitamins. Vitamins that I'm not sure if they help me or not because I was only given 1/3 of one day's serving size. I will not be purchasing these.

The Verdict

I have not been pleased with my monthly Birchboxes. I'll use the product simply because I don't want them to go to waste. However, I don't know how long I will continue this subscription. Maybe I'm being too harsh. I'll give it a few more months. How was your box this month?

April 2014 Birchbox

I just got my second Birchbox! I'm excited to share with you all that I got! I received 4 samples plus a healthy snack. Here is what I received:

Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel, Full Size $22

I do not use any kind of brow pencils, gel, etc. In fact, my brows are extremely dark and bushy. It is everything I can do to keep them under control. The last thing I need is to add pencil to my eyebrows. Therefore, I will not be using this gel.

Supergoop! Daily Correct CC Cream, Full Sixe $32

This cream acts as both a primer and a foundation. It also has sunscreen included. I am excited to try this! The one thing that was disappointing about this product was how tiny the sample size was. I doubt I will get more than one use out of it.

Color Club Gala's Gems Collection, Set of Four $13 (This is a Birchbox Exclusive)

I received a full size bottle of one of these nail polishes. I was really excited about the size of the polish I received! I got the greenish looking polish. It's name is "Breakfast At…" Super cute play on Breakfast at Tiffany's. I really like the way this polish looks. It has a cool metallic look to it as well.

Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 8% AHA Gel Exfoliant, Full Size $24

I was really excited to receive this product! This is a leave on exfoliant with no exfoliating beads. It is more of a gel substance. The glycol acid in this product really keeps skin clear. You just put this on under moisturizer and go. I have been using a very similar product that is much more expensive, but it just ran out. This sample is a good size, and seems to work just as well! I will definitely be using all of the sample, and then ordering a full size bottle!

KIND Healthy Grain Bars, $11.88 for a box of 15

This was an extra in my box for this month. The flavor I received was Maple Pumpkin Seeds with Sea Salt. This is not something that I am a fan of, so I passed on this. I would like to try the Dark Chocolate Chunk or the Peanut Butter flavors though.

The Verdict
This month's Birchbox was a little bit of a disappointment for me and my lifestyle. However, I definitely still think it was worth the $10 I spent on the box. I definitely recommend signing up for this subscription box. If you would like to sign up, go here. I cannot wait to see what I get next month!

Noah the Movie

Last night I went and saw the movie Noah. There has been a lot of controversy over this movie. I am well aware that Noah is a real man who is in the Bible. I know his story, and I know that it is true. I am also aware that this is a movie. With any movie, it is likely that it will not be exactly as it is in the Bible. I did not go into this movie expecting to see the true Biblical story of Noah in movie form. I went into it knowing that this was a man's view on a story that he may or may not believe. That is how I believe everyone should look at this movie. You cannot just accept everything in life as true, so why should we have to accept everything about this movie as true? Look at it with a grain of salt.

If you would rather choose not to see this movie, that is fine. I am not trying to convince anyone to go see it. It is not a movie that I believe is necessary to see. There were some very interesting points in the movie though. Whether you see this movie or not, that is your choice. Just remember to take everything with a grain of salt. If it's not in the Bible, we have no way to know if it was true or not.
